Oatley Masonic Centre Project

Completion date: 2025
Project type: Alterations and Additions

We have much pleasure in recommending Magico Constructions to any prospective client seeking their services.

We engaged Magico Constructions to conduct the recent renovation of the Oatley Masonic Centre. The original brick lodge room and dining hall are heritage listed under the Council’s Local Environmental Plan, having been built in 1922. In the 1960s a timber frame lean-to extension was added at the rear of the premises to accommodate indoor toilet facilities as well as extra store rooms. By the turn of the new century the need to renovate the Masonic Centre to upgrade its facilities was obvious. To achieve an acceptable outcome a proposal was developed involving the demolition of the extension of the original building and replacing it with a modern facility containing a new kitchen, upgraded toilets, store rooms, a masonic museum and at the same time provide level access for the building’s users. And to ensure long term viability of the Masonic Centre and its contribution to the history of the locality, a commercial tenancy space was included. The proposal to renovate the Oatley Masonic Centre has achieved a successful conclusion.

Magico Constructions have conducted their work of the renovation process in a most professional and accommodating manner resulting in the project being achieved within budget. The quality of their achievements in the renovation project have resulted in the centre now being a most acceptable and spectacular masonic meeting place.”

FROM THE ARCHITECT

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank you, Winston, and the Magico Construction Team for the delivery of the above-mentioned project within the project program and budget. Your early assistance at the Development Approval stage ensuring that the development was within budget made a significant difference for the Oatley Masonic Building Committee in their decision to progress with the redevelopment.

As the selected builder for this project, your early construction and buildability advice assisted us particularly in the context of Covid and the industry cost inflation which ensued.

You and your Team have conducted all your tasks in a very professional and accommodating manner. Your collaboration with the design team through the construction stage has achieved that levels of detail and quality of which you can be proud. This confirmed by the positive response from every member of the Masonic Community who has seen and used the newly renovated facilities.

It was worth noting that the commercial tenancy space was leased prior to the building completion, and that is a testament to the workmanship in delivering the intended design of the space. The tenant who is an Interior Designer has now fitted out the premises, and moved in is very complimentary.

We look forward to collaborating with you, Winston, and your Team again in the future.”
